Description
For many of us, chicken Kiev brings to mind the nasty frozen version, so inexplicably popular in the 1980s – lurid orange crumbs and dry chicken surrounding a lava-hot butter that left you smelling of garlic for days. It’s a shame that its memory is so tarnished, because properly made chicken kiev is delicious – Gordon Ramsay is among the fans of this classic dish.
Instructions: Cook from frozen in a preheated oven 200°C for 30–35mins. When on the plate, cut them in half so that lovely sauce runs out, mmmm so so tasty! Serve with mashed potato and steamed tenderstem broccoli – or if you’re sticking to the retro theme, oven chips and peas!
